I had a *** problem: raccoons. I contacted Terminex and they handled the problem, charged me $1980. I have no problem with what they did since they sealed off the access to my attic and that solved the problem. Servicemaster handled the financing.

Under the terms of my contract, I had 12 months to pay my account off at 18% interest. Within 3 weeks of the service, I paid $1000 toward my account and 3 weeks after that (12/29/2015) I paid another $900. I had an outstanding balance of $80 (i.e, less that 5% of what I originally owed).

When I got my last bill, my balanced jumped to $130.47, or a $50.47 finance charge tacked on to the bill because I didn't pay it off within the 90 day time frame. I assumed I would be assessed some kind of finance charge on the $80. However, when I called, the customer service rep told me that I had to pay finance charges on the full loan amount ($1980), not the amount I owed ($80).

I don't think this is legal. I'll never do business with Terminex or Servicemaster again. The customer service rep talked to her supervisor and they dropped it to $80, which I paid, but my account now shows I owe $50.47 The only thing she did was trick me into paying $80 and this is going to be one of those collection things. I am filing a complaint with the state attorney general's office.

Oh, and Servicemaster statements do not itemize anything. They show you the original loan amount and your monthly payment. They don't show you what you've paid or how finance charges are assessed. Very unprofessional. Do not use them, people.

Reason of review: Problems with payment.

Location: Louisville, Kentucky

it definitely states in a contract you have to pay it in 90 days the whole amt, so i think it is legal
